• Leave the bandage on OVERNIGHT

  • The next morning, thoroughly hand wash the tattoo with hot water (in the shower) with unscented mild soap (i.e. Dial, Dr. Bronner’s) and make sure all excess blood and “shiny parts” have been washed off

  • Allow to air dry or pat dry with a CLEAN paper towel

  • DO NOT re-bandage tattoo

  • After the first washing, limit shower time and keep the area dry

  • The day after the first washing, and from here on out, use unscented mild lotion (i.e. Curel or Aveeno) to ease the dryness and itchiness

  • Apply a THIN layer of lotion DO NOT OVER APPLY and work it into your skin with clean hands

  • DO NOT soak the tattoo in a large body of water (i.e. bathtubs, swimming pools, hot tubs, ocean, river, Lake Coeur d’Alene)

  • DO NOT pick at your tattoo — instead allow flakey dry skin to fall off naturally

  • DO NOT listen to the advice of your friends about the care of your new tattoo
